Go or no-go, before every sortie.
An offline check a technician runs at the position in about thirty seconds. It compares the airframe with its own history and says whether it is fit to fly — and if not, why.
The decision to fly is made far from the dashboard.
Hangar shows a fleet’s state to the people planning it. The call on a single airframe is made at the position, often without a connection, by someone who has a minute to decide. Preflight puts the same diagnosis in their hands.
- Crew techniciansRun the check on the airframe they are about to launch.
- Crew leadsSee which airframes in the kit are cleared today.
- Fleet officersGet every check result in Hangar once the kit syncs.
Go or no-go, before every sortie.
- 1
Connect the airframe
Plug in over USB or insert the flight controller’s SD card. Preflight reads the latest logs and identifies the airframe.
- 2
Compare with its baseline
The airframe’s baseline and open alerts come from the last Hangar sync, stored on the device. No network is needed.
- 3
Get a verdict
Cleared, cleared with limits, or not cleared — with the reason in plain words: “Motor 3 drawing 18% over baseline. Do not fly; replace the bearing.”
- 4
Sync later
Results are stored encrypted on the device and flow into Hangar when the kit reaches a connection or a sync station.
- Motor current balance and drift against the baseline
- Vibration on three axes
- Battery: cell spread, internal-resistance trend, cycle count
- ESC temperature trend
- GNSS and compass health
- Firmware and configuration against the fleet standard
- Open alerts and work orders for this airframe
- Runs on
- Rugged Android tablets and Windows laptops
- Connectivity
- None required; syncs over the network or by offline bundle
- Data on the device
- Encrypted; can be wiped remotely if the device is lost
- Time per check
- About 30 seconds
- It advises; the crew decides. Preflight never blocks a launch on its own.
- It does not change flight-controller settings or firmware.
- An airframe needs about ten logged flights for a baseline; before that, Preflight checks it against the reference for its type.
